How to prepare a product CSV for a Shopify import

Shopify's product CSV import is strict: the headers have to match its template exactly (Title, Variant SKU, Variant Price, Variant Barcode, Image Src…) and the values have to be clean. A supplier export or an export from your old store almost never lines up. Here's how to fix it fast.

What trips up a Shopify product import

• Wrong headers. Your file says "Nom du produit", "Prix", "Référence" — Shopify wants "Title", "Variant Price", "Variant SKU".
• Prices in the wrong format. "1 299,90 €" won't parse; Shopify expects 1299.90.
• Barcodes and SKUs with stray spaces or inconsistent casing.
• Image URLs split across several columns or malformed.
• Empty rows that create blank products.

The fast way with Importly

1. Upload your product export (.xlsx or .csv).
